New England Environmental Justice Hub
One Rhode Consulting co-founded the The New England Environmental Justice Hub and leads its strategy, helping to shape a clear, community-centered model for a multi-state effort across New England. The Hub is a nonprofit initiative sponsored by the Grassroots Fund, initially funded by the Barr Foundation in 2024.
Through strong partnerships with philanthropy and national partners, One Rhode Consulting supports the Hub’s state and regional convenings and provides strategic support to coalitions advancing environmental justice. Through Navigation Sessions and a growing network of partners, the Hub has shared funding opportunities, technical assistance, and learning resources with hundreds of environmental justice organizations and stakeholders across the region.

Compete RI
Compete RI is a nonprofit initiative of Polaris MEP, with One Rhode Consulting serving as its strategic lead. The initiative strengthens Rhode Island’s economic and community development ecosystem by connecting communities to resources through funding identification, project strategy, and grant writing support. Most recently, the initiative has expanded its offerings to elevate innovative Rhode Island projects to national philanthropy, capacity builders, and technical assistance providers, including co-sponsoring a 2025 regional and national funders convening.

Navigation Service for Foundations
The One Rhode Navigation Service for Foundations is a resource identification service created and managed by One Rhode Consulting that foundations can offer to support grantees and grant applicants. The service connects organizations to funding opportunities, targeted research, and a network of pro bono or low-cost consulting—strengthening project readiness and access to resources.
The initiative draws on One Rhode Consulting’s growing national network and a consulting collective of diverse professionals, independent consultants, and community leaders with deep experience across strategic planning, facilitation, fundraising and grant writing, and community engagement—enabling foundations to offer practical, responsive support aligned with grantee (or applicant) needs.
