Compete RI, Skills RI, University Rhode Island Research Foundation and Economic Progress Institute welcome NGIN to Rhode Island. Rele is part of the team that was selected for NGIN’s Equity Impact Investments initiative (EII). The RI team showcased RI, including a visit to Central Falls to meet with Mayor Maria Rivera.
EII aims to foster collaboration between community-based organizations (CBOs) and economic development organizations (EDOs) through the co-creation of innovative projects that drive inclusive economic growth. The program also seeks to increase CBO involvement in economic plans and funding coalitions, while assisting EDOs in developing inclusive strategies and stronger partnerships with underserved communities. NGIN, in collaboration with its partners, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), International Economic Development Council (IEDC), and HBCU Community Development Action Coalition (CDAC), will conduct two phases involving two cohorts of participants. This initiative will provide capacity building and training to 120 organizations, along with offering partnership assistance to 24 sites.
