Meeting the Moment: Community Development and Climate Resilience in New England’s Working Places
Join us for an in-person event that delves into vital lessons, approaches and resources to advance climate resilience in New England’s smaller cities and rural areas. Discover what’s possible when we integrate climate resilience, community development and economic growth, and explore innovative solutions together. Don’t miss an opportunity to connect, learn and collaborate.
This convening will bring together practitioners in the climate, community development, economic development and community engagement spaces as well as leaders in resilience and clean energy. The event will build upon the newly released NYFed book, What’s Possible: Investing NOW for Prosperous, Sustainable Neighborhoods, and will include opening comments by Boston Fed President Susan Collins.

Sharing/FYI via the Environmental Protection Network - 8/29/2024: “Leveraging Federal Funds for Clean Energy Projects” webinar
Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, tax-exempt entities like local governments, schools, hospitals, public housing administrators, public utilities, and community organizations can get Direct Pay tax credits when they build renewable energy projects like solar, wind, or electric vehicle charging stations for the first time ever. This is an unprecedented opportunity to build sustainable energy infrastructure, clean up our air and water, and create good green jobs. Join Lawyers for Good Government (L4GG), the Congressional Progressive Caucus Center (CPCC), and Environmental Protection Network (EPN) to learn more about Direct Pay and hear examples of how NGOs, religious organizations, community-based organizations, and other 501(c)3s can seize this opportunity. This virtual briefing is designed to help community leaders better understand how to use direct pay to claim federal clean energy incentives.
Northern New England Thriving Communities Network
During the day on July 29th at St Anselm (NH), federal agency partners such as Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), USDA Rural Development (RD) and others will be coming together to give very brief introductions to their agencies and programs. We do not plan to spend hours in presentation-style settings, instead MOST of the day will be interactive, giving you a chance to travel from table to table to gather information and ask pertinent questions related to your community need or upcoming projects. We will have two networking sessions as well as a few concurrent workshops in the afternoon.
